Hey everyone, I’ve got a question that’s been on my mind. A few weeks ago, my car started making this strange hissing sound near the back when I accelerated, and the smell of exhaust inside got a bit stronger. A friend told me it might be an exhaust leak, but I’m not totally sure what that means or how serious it is. I’ve also heard that the exhaust system plays a big role in reducing emissions, so now I’m wondering — can a small leak actually make my car more polluting? And how do you even know for sure that there’s a leak before it becomes dangerous?

Interesting topic! I never realized how big a role the exhaust system plays in keeping the car eco-friendly. I always thought it was just about reducing noise. Reading this makes me think I should pay more attention to how my car sounds — maybe those little noises we ignore actually matter. It’s crazy how something so small can affect both safety and the environment.
